TOWNSEND, TN - Apple Valley Country Stores & Café in Townsend is hosting a 50’s and 60’s Tribute concert on the grounds of Apple Valley on June 20 at 7:30 pm with proceeds benefitting the Appalachian Bear Rescue.
“The Papa Bear Jamboree” will help raise money for ABR in its mission to rehabilitate orphaned and injured bears for release to the wild.
Tribute artists will take the stage dressed in the familiar styles of Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Buddy Holly to perform hits from the 1950s and 1960s in a fun-filled blast from the past.
Guests can tap their feet, clap their hands and sing along while enjoying such classics as “Heartbreak Hotel”, “Hound Dog”, “I Walk the Line”, “Ring of Fire”, “Peggy Sue”, and “That’ll Be the Day”.
Mark Oldham, the new owner of Apple Valley Country Stores & Café, praised both the musicians and the volunteers with Appalachian Bear Rescue. “They’re wonderful people, and we’re happy to organize this live concert event for this good cause,” he said. ABR needs donations to purchase fresh food and medical supplies for the cubs and bears.
Concert tickets are available online at www.applevalleycountrystore.com or at Apple Valley for $10. VIP Tickets for $30 include a BBQ dinner, drinks and VIP area with prime seating for the performance. The Apple Valley Café will serve their signature smoked BBQ and chicken, homemade chicken salad, and World Famous Fried Apple Pies.
There will be a beer garden for attendees 21 and older.
In exchange for a donation to the bear rescue, guests can pose for pictures with the tribute artists in a photo booth on the Apple Valley lawn and take home a souvenir of meeting the singers.
