American Spiritual Ensemble performing in downtown church tonight

The American Spiritual Ensemble, a critically-acclaimed professional group, will bring their classical style to First Baptist Church on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 6 p.m.

With more than 50 voices, the ensemble is dedicated to celebrating the Spiritual as a vital part of American History through deeply moving and raucously exciting arrangements of classic melodies.

“The American Spiritual Ensemble will bring music to our church that the entire community will enjoy,” said Dr. Tom Ogburn, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Knoxville. “These are some of the finest singers in the classical music world, true champions of preserving and performing classic spirituals. We are thrilled to host them to Knoxville.”

This concert is a gift to the community, and admission is free. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. For more information about the American Spiritual Ensemble, visit www.americanspiritualensemble.com.
