KNOXVILLE — Marble City Comicon is Knoxville’s newest and most authentic comic book tradeshow held at the Knoxville Convention Center on April 11-13. The event offers comic book enthusiasts, sci-fi and fantasy fanatics and gamers the opportunity to show off their best cosplay – short for costume play – and meet celebrity guests.

Marble City Comicon will feature a diverse group of guests from comics, science fiction, television, movie, anime, horror and fantasy. Guests include:

• RJ Haddy of the SyFy Channel’s “Faceoff.” Haddy will lead special effects makeup classes teaching air brushing on Friday at 5:30 p.m., and prosthetics on Sunday at noon.
• Kevin Nash, wrestling legend, former Vols basketball player and University of Tennessee alumnus.
• Scott Tepperman, star of Syfy Channel’s “Ghost Hunters International.”
• Ricou Browning, actor who played the underwater Creature in the 1954 classic horror film, “The Creature from the Black Lagoon.”
• Savana Jade Wehunt, appeared as a walker in “The Walking Dead,” also played body double of the Governor’s daughter Penny in “The Walking Dead.”
• Cosplay superstar Riki LeCotey known as Riddle from Syfy's hit show “Heroes of Cosplay.”
• Comic Book Legend George Perez.
• Various comic artists and animators that have worked for companies such as DC Comics, Marvel, Walt Disney Imagineering and Adult Swim.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to schedule professional cosplay photo sessions and compete in the cosplay competition for cash prizes. The convention will also hold gaming tournaments, including Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dungeons & Dragons, Pokemon and more.

Day passes are available for $20 and full weekend passes for $40. VIP tickets are also available for $75.
