KNOXVILLE - Knox Area Rescue Ministries will benefit from the third annual Ride for the Rescue cyclists’ event scheduled for Saturday, August 16. Sponsored by West Bikes, the event will begin at the West Bikes store location, 111531 Kingston Pike.

Ride for the Rescue offers fun and challenges for both cycling novices and experienced cyclists. There are three routes, 30 miles, 50 miles, and 70 miles in length, with varying start times. The 50 and 70 mile route will kick off at 7:30 a.m. and the 30 mile route will begin at 8:30 a.m. Fully supplied rest stops with volunteers are located on each route to assist with cyclists’ personal needs. Local law enforcement will provide safety assistance along each route as needed.

“We are so grateful to have the support of West Bikes and cyclists in our area who are working to not only raise funds to help those in need at KARM, but also to raise awareness of those needs within the community. Ride for the Rescue is a fun-filled sporting event with a powerful purpose,” said Sue Renfro, Marketing and Communications Manager for Knox Area Rescue Ministries.

Early registration is available online through August 15th at www.westbikes.com. Early online registration fee is $25, and the day of event fee is $30. Registration is also available on site at the West Bikes store.
