WordPlayers to present Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award play

The WordPlayers will present the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play "Doubt, A Parable" by John Patrick Shanley in October.

This brilliant and powerful drama features Carol Mayo Jenkins, veteran of Broadway, Off-Broadway, numerous regional theatres and star of TV’s Fame. Ms. Jenkins plays Sister Aloysius, a Catholic school principal, who takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn (Rollin Prince) of improper relations with one of the male students. Lar’Juanette Williams plays Mrs. Muller and Rachel Norman enacts Sister James. This thought-provoking drama confronts issues of hierarchical power, uncertainties and doubt.

Recommended for ages 15+ Optional Post-show Discussion will follow each performance.

The play will be presented on October 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 @ 7:30 pm and Oct. 20 & 27 @ 2:30 pm at Erin Presbyterian Church, 200 Lockett Rd., Knoxville, 37919.

Tickets are $10-$12 and may be purchased online at www.wordplayers.org or at the door with cash or check.
