VONORE, TN -- Angelique Medow and Building Ideas are hosting HomeLife!, the first of a series of grand celebrations, featuring former UT football coach Johnny Majors; the big band, swing, and dance favorites of the Brad Walker Orchestra; and a three-course wine dinner prepared by Bruce Bogartz, six-time Metro Pulse chef of the year. The first event takes place Thursday, September 19, from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Community Activities Center at Rarity Bay, in Vonore, Tennessee.
Appetizers are free from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., autographs are free with Coach Majors from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the wine dinner with entertainment ($100 per person) begins at 7 p.m.
This first event celebrates the alliance between Building Ideas and Greystone Construction, which now provide seamless sales, design, and decorating services (through Building Ideas) and remodeling and building services (through Greystone Construction) to Vonore, Tellico Village, Sweetwater, and surrounding areas.
“We hope everyone comes to celebrate life with us in the Vonore area,” said Medow. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to work and play with the great residents of these communities in beautiful East Tennessee.”
HomeLife! is a series of events designed to educate homeowners about how to choose trustworthy and talented home improvement specialists. HomeLife! was created by Angelique Medow, HGTV designer and owner of Building Ideas, a design and décor firm based in Knoxville. “We want to help homeowners enjoy the process of remodeling, building, or decorating their homes and avoid the pitfalls that can lead to lost time and money,” said Medow.
The first HomeLife! headliner, Coach Johnny Majors, former UT football coach, will speak during dinner about what it takes to “Retire in Style.” Bogartz’s dinner will feature spinach salad with bourbon-steeped raisins, aged Angus tenderloin with Scottish smoked salmon, and dark chocolate mousse with spiced almond brittle. After dinner, professional ballroom dancers will first perform the Tennessee Waltz to the Brad Walker Orchestra. Dancing for guests will follow – to the music of Glenn Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Ray Anthony, Benny Goodman, and Frank Sinatra.
The Community Activities Center is located at 150 Rarity Parkway in Vonore.
