KNOXVILLE, TN -- If you are thinking about remodeling or building a new home, you will have a chance to find everything you might need at the annual Home show this weekend, March 15-17.
The Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville (HBAGK) brings its annual Home Show for the first time to the Knoxville Convention Center. This is Knoxville’s only locally-produced home show.
“The HBAGK Home Show is a great way to get inspiration to remodel your home or even to build the new home of your dreams,” said Ashley Burnette, HBAGK executive vice president. “We have more than 120 vendors signed up. With the show’s move to the Convention Center, we are excited to be able to grow and expand this event even further each year.”
A new addition to this year’s event will be seven “Roomscapes” built and decorated by premium vendors and displayed in the center of the showcase. Each exhibitor is given a 20-foot by 20-foot space to construct a state-of-the-art, fully constructed and decorated room.

Grace Construction will feature a "keeping room" at the 2013 Home Show.

Grace Construction, the 2012 HBAGK Builder of the Year, is taking part in the event by constructing a “keeping room,” a comfortable living space for the family centered around a stone fireplace. Interior design store G&G Interiors will complete the room with the furnishings and decorations in styles and colors on the cutting-edge of design.
“In homebuilding and remodeling, we’ve seen a real trend in our customers wanting more livable spaces like family rooms and keeping rooms,” said Scott Branscom, owner of Grace Construction. “We hope people see our room as a space that will fit their lifestyle and bring their family closer together.”
Grace Construction will lead 30-minute seminars on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” project that built a more than 4,000-square-foot home and duplex in five days. Daniel and Mandy Watson of The Restoration House, the recipients of the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” house, will visit the Grace Construction booth on Saturday from noon-3 p.m. to meet guests and answer questions.
Tickets to the Home Show are $10 for adults and $8 with a discounted coupon available at event sponsor ORNL Federal Credit Union locations. Children under age 17 are free. Parking is free in the Locust Street garage. The Home Show runs Friday, noon-8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; and Sunday, noon-6 p.m.
