Musician Justin Hines to give benefit concert for Restoration House
KNOXVILLE -- Justin Hines, a rising star in the folk-pop scene, is traveling across North America from June to October 2013 with the Vehicle of Change tour, performing benefit concerts for local charities. On July 8, Hines is teaming up with The Restoration House (TRH) for a concert to benefit single mothers and their children in the Knoxville community.
"Justin and his music have had a significant impact on The Restoration House over the years,” says Daniel Watson, TRH Executive Director. “The video we produced using Justin's song, 'Say What You Will' has been a tremendous tool in helping people connect with our mission.”
Justin’s music rings with optimism, which is the way Justin approaches his life. Justin has a joint dislocation condition called Larsen Syndrome that has forced him to use a wheelchair his entire life.
“The reality is I don’t really look at my situation as that big a deal,” he says. “We all have things that challenge us, just some people’s are a little more visible in the forefront. Mine is very apparent, whereas others wear it on the inside.”
Vehicle of Change is Justin Hines’s way of sharing his story of overcoming personal struggles through music while giving back to the community. The tour is being funded through donations from fans all over the world so that any proceeds from each concert are given directly to the partnering charity.
“We can’t wait to introduce people to the man behind the music. Justin is a deeply soulful, passionate artist who understands restoration more than most,” says Watson.
One hundred percent of ticket sales from each show will be donated to the partner charity.
