Hosted by the Talley Ho Inn in Townsend, it has been designed to be more than just a motorcycle show. This will be a family-friendly event. Activities will be held at the Talley Ho Inn show grounds and in various other places in the Townsend area.
A swap meet, vendors, guided sightseeing rides, raffles, entertainment, and much more has been planned for all ages. There will be all brands of new, used, and vintage motorcycle parts and accessories for sale. From shops liquidating excess inventory to the hobbyist selling leftover parts from his latest project, you can find phenomenal deals on hard to find items.
All activities, except for the custom bike show registration, are free and open to the public.
Two Wheel'n the Smokies welcomes all types of motorcycles -- one-off customs, antique bikes, cruisers, cafe racers, touring bikes, and sport bikes. "We didn't want to limit the bike show to just one type of bike," says organizer Jake Martin. "We are celebrating the motorcycle - antique, sport, cruiser, touring, one-off customs, and café racers. If it has two wheels, we want you to bring it out and show it off."
Martin says he sees tremendous potential, citing a popular Knoxville-based motorcycle event. According to Martin, "The last year of the Honda Hoot, 2008, brought more than 17,000 bike enthusiasts into the area with an economic impact of more than $23 million."
Two Wheel'n the Smokies organizers chose Townsend, Tennessee to host the inaugural event because of its proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains, the Cherohala Skyway, and Deal's Gap (aka "the Dragon"). "We have the best roads and rides in the country," says Martin.
