Knoxville Men pledge against domestic violence

KNOXVILLE -- Knoxville men are proving that there are indeed 'More than a Few Good Men' out there with their support of YWCA Knoxville's Week Without Violence. Beginning October 15th through the 20th, YWCA Knoxville will showcase local men who submit their photos as a pledge taken against domestic violence on all YWCA social media sites and website.

The YWCA Week Without Violence is a worldwide campaign that takes place during the month of October to encourage communities to take part in raising awareness and providing education around domestic violence. Throughout this week, the YWCA hosts events and activities to get people and organizations involved and educated to end violence in their communities.

"We are excited and proud to be a part of the More than a Few Good Men Campaign," says Blake Hollis, President of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. "I think that domestic violence is something that is often times over looked and under-reported. I speak for the entire Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity when I say domestic violence is by no means acceptable, nor should it ever be tolerated under any circumstance."

YWCA Knoxville will be collecting photos now up until October 20, 2012. Men of any age or background are welcome and encouraged to participate. Photos can be dropped off at the YWCA Knoxville at 420 West Clinch Avenue or emailed to Dbenson@ywcaknox.com. Individuals and groups are also welcomed.
