Breakthrough sponsors Run for Autism on April 14

KNOXVILLE -- Breakthrough, a non-profit organization established to improve the lives of adults with autism, will host the Sixth Annual 5K Breakthrough Run for Autism at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 14. The event is being held to raise funds to improve the lives of adults with autism spectrum disorders.
Lori Tucker, news anchor at WATE-TV, is the race's honorary chair.
The 5K run and walk and one-mile fun run will start and finish at Regal Cinemas Pinnacle Stadium 18, in Turkey Creek.
The Run for Autism invites anyone with disabilities who would like to participate in the walk or run to register as a Breakthrough Buddy. A volunteer can accompany the buddy on the course, and buddies will receive special recognition. Runners may register as individuals or on teams.
Registration fee is $20 for adults and $10 for students K-12 during early registration through April 5, and $5 more for late registration. Participants may also register the morning of the race from 7-7:30 a.m.
