Bring your best friend or find your next best friend at Bark in the Park this weekend
KNOXVILLE -- Pet lovers will get together once again at this year's Bark in the Park on Saturday, June 9 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley have been hosting this canine event since 1994.
The event has games, contests, and great deals at a silent auction.
Pet guardians can connect with vendors specializing in all things canine, including groomers, trainers, and luxury boarding facilities. Dogs of all shapes and sizes enjoy competing in the Sock Hop, Simon Says, and the Costume Contest, and other events.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the festivities whether you have a dog or not. If you're looking for your next best friend, be sure to visit the HSTV booth for information on adoption, and check out Rescue Alley to meet local rescue groups.
New this year is the Light Up the Darkness Memorial Walk. Walk in memory of a beloved pet, friend, or family member, or for all shelter animals. Pre-registration is only $20 ($25 to register on-site), which includes a t-shirt, wrist band, racing bib, and a complimentary HSTV membership.
Bark in the Park is free to attend. A $10 donation allows your canine companion to compete in any of the dog games and contests. All proceeds benefit the the Humane Society's rescue, adoption, and spay/neuter programs.
