Townsend Artisan Guild exhibiting at The Emporium Center
KNOXVILLE-- There's still plenty of time to visit The Townsend Artisan Guild (TAG) exhibition at the Emporium Center in downtown Knoxville. Through August 31, 2012, "Destination Townsend" is featuring original paintings, photographs, mixed media, sculptures, jewelry, and more by nearly 30 local artists.

TAG, www.townsendartisanguild.net, brings together working fine artists and fine crafts persons from East Tennessee to promote education, exploration, awareness, and development of arts. The group, through the individual participation of its 65 members, strives to promote community interest in and appreciation of the arts through participation in events, demonstrations, classes, festivals, and workshops. The Guild also provides the artists opportunities for self-promotion through art shows, exhibits, and community activities.
Artists featured in the exhibition include: Deborah Adams (fiber art); Lois Alexander (painting); Evelyn Bryant (sculpture); Susan Cooper (photography); Becky Goodman (stained glass); Rex Gullufsen (photography); Lynn Hash (fiber art); Dave Huber (pottery); Mary K. Jenkins (acrylic); Rick Kratz (photography); Ken LaValley (photography); Maggie McDade (painting); Dan Meadows (photography); M.J. Montgomery (photography and painting); Peter Mueller (mixed media); Dave Neamand (silver jewelry); Billy Reynolds (wood carving); Terri Reynolds (carving); Wade Richardson (furniture); Mary Ruden (fiberglass and printmaking); Stephen Shankles (woodworking); Mike Shults (wood carving); Jeffrey Stoner (photography); Suzanna Terrill (encaustics); Sharon Webb (paper mache); Sarah Weber (painting); Wendy West (glass sculpture); and John Wharton (woodturning).
The Emporium Center is located at 100 S. Gay Street. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM with additional hours on Saturday, August 4, from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
