Knox Heritage Celebrates 2012 Preservation Month with Events, Announcement of Fragile Fifteen

KNOXVILLE -- As thousands of people throughout the U.S. celebrate National Preservation Month in May, Knoxville residents will join in to focus on grassroots preservation in America.
Knox Heritage has planned a lot of wonderful events for our area:
Thursdays in May, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. & Saturday, May 12, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Architectural Salvage Shop Hours
Knox Heritage Office, 1300 N. Broadway
Browse through a collection of salvaged architectural pieces such as doors & hardware, wood flooring, pedestal sinks, light fixtures, and more. Some inventory will be on sale on May 12. Also, several items from last month's Salvage Show are featured in Knox Heritage's Etsy shop.

Major Donors' Spring Luncheon
At the home of Ambassador & Mrs. Victor Ashe, this event also features a tour of historic Westwood. By invitation only.

Art & Architecture Tour: Gay Street
This event pairs two great things: art and architecture! Start with festive food and drink at the Bijou Theatre (803 S. Gay Street) and walk a tour route along Gay Street based on winning photographs. You'll also get a set of postcards featuring the winning images. With tour guides Kim Trent and Jack Neely. $40 each, space is limited. RSVP by May 15.
