At its annual Partners in Education Spring Celebration Luncheon on April 27 Knox County Schools honored U.S. Cellular with the 2011 Becky Ramsey Award.

U.S. Cellular served as the presenting sponsor of the Knox County Schools Coupon Book Campaign from 2009-2011 and has contributed more than $500,000 to education in East Tennessee since 2009. Through the company's Calling All Communities program, four East Tennessee schools each have won $100,000. U.S. Cellular plans to announce details about Calling All Communities 2011 soon.

The Becky Ramsey Award each year is presented to organizations or individuals who have contributed to the success of Partners in Education by dedicating their time, talent, energy and resources to the program. The 2011 Beck Ramsey Award was presented also to Judy Rogers, a Teacher Supply Depot volunteer who was instrumental in the Depot's move to its new home on the Cedar Bluff campus, and Jennifer Brown for her role in developing the "Schooled for Success" eighth grade career program for Knox County Schools in 1993.
