Downtown Knoxville will be showing off homes on Sunday, October 9 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The annual City People Home Tour will give people an opportunity to have an exclusive view of 10 furnished homes located throughout the downtown area.

This urban living space will feature urban lofts, condos, and townhouse which are either newly constructed units, carefully restored historical buildings, beautifully designed lofts, or refurbished warehouses.

Visitors will be able to interact with homeowners to find out about downtown living topics, including grocery shopping, parking, recreational activities, entertainment, and working.

Chariots of Hire will run a shuttle to cover the tour route.

The efforts of City People have helped Knoxville's center city grow to more than 2,000 inhabitants over the last few years.

Home Tour proceeds are reinvested into Knoxville's center city community through grants that fund causes downtown such as Shakespeare on the Square, James White Fort, Market Square Farmers Market, tree planting and many more.

Advanced tickets sales are only $10 and can be purchased at Bliss in Market Square and Kingston Pike or online through October 8 at www.citypeople.org. Tickets are $15 the day of the tour and will be sold at the East Tennessee Community Design Center, 500 S. Gay Street.

City People works with government and community groups to develop Knoxville's center city.
