BRAVO! Awards Set for June 9

Clayton Homes has won a BRAVO! Award 2 years in a row.

BRAVO! Awards will be presented again soon for the 18th year in Blount County. Keep Blount Beautiful and Blount County Council of Garden Clubs will once again praise local businesses for their landscaping and beautification efforts.

This year Keep Blount Beautiful will recognize local businesses that have creatively re-used an existing building in Blount County.

Nominations can be submitted online at Keep Blount Beautiful's website, www.keepblountbeautiful.org or by calling 865-681-4809. Photographs of last years winners may also be viewed on the website. The deadline for submitting a nomination is 5 p.m. Friday, May 6.

Judging for the awards will be May 23 thru May 27. An anonymous panel of judges representing Blount County Council of Garden Clubs within the county will visit each nominated business. The judges have studied horticulture and landscape design. Among the criteria for the awards will be cleanliness, originality of landscaping, environmental impact and visual effect.

Winners will be announced at a luncheon located at Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson June 9 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Tickets are available for $20 per person. Each nominee will receive a free ticket to attend the luncheon. Award recipients will receive a plaque for permanent display inside their office or organization and an outdoor sign will designate the prize-winning properties for one year.
