Multi-genre music group Lake Street Dive captivated a packed house at the Tennessee Theater on April 28.
With their tight-as-a-drum harmonies, the band blurred the lines between music and art with their single “Good Together” which reached number nine on the charts and other fan favorites including “Hypotheticals”. The powerful, velvety smooth and mesmerizing voice of Rachel Price reverberated through the theater to the delight of a capacity crowd.
Backing Price were bass virtuoso and vocalist Rachel Kearney, drummer Mike Calabrese, keyboardist Akie Bermiss and guitarist James Cornelison.
The band performed other hits from their albums including “Know that I Know,” “Dance with a Stranger,” “Good Kisser,” and other favorites. The band performed two acapella favorites including “You’re Still the One”, originally performed by Shania Twain.
Lake Street Dive kept the audience enthralled and their catchy lyrics and musical excellence moved the audience to stand up and dance several times during the show.
The band concluded their set and left the stage leaving the audience asking for more. To the delight of the spellbound audience the band returned to the stage to perform two more songs.
The band has been performing for 22 years with no signs of slowing down and has several more than 30 performances scheduled for the ’26 season.
Opening the show was rising star Jackie Evans who performed her hit “Sleep for Days” among other fan favorites. Evans’ soulful, captivating voice paired with her stage presence, and precision on the piano kept her audience charmed.
