By Michael Williams
April 19, 2026

Lake City Dive

Multi-genre music group Lake Street Dive will perform at the Tennessee Theater on April 28 at 7 P.M.

Now in their 22nd year, Lake Street Dive formed in 2004 at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Formed as a “free country band,” the band gradually evolved to a multi-genre style incorporating country, folk, jazz, and rock. The band’s name was inspired by the Bryant Lake Bowl, a frequent hangout in the band’s early years located on Lake Street in Minneapolis.

In 2024, the band released their 8th album, “Good Together,” which included the song “Good Together which charted at number nine on the U.S. Triple A charts.

With their current line-up of Rachael Price, Bridget Kearney, Mike Calabrese, Akie Bermiss, and James Cornelison, the band frequently tours North America, Australia, and Europe.

Drawing from influences of classic pop and swing-era jazz, the band’s music has been described as Motown meets the Brill Building in jazzy, soulful, woulda-been Sixties chart toppers.

Band member Bridget Kearney was the 2005 winner of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest in the Jazz Category for her performance of her song “Sometimes when I’m Drunk, and You’re Wearing My Favorite Shirt.”

Kearney plays acoustic bass, electric bass, piano, and vocals.

Rachael Price has a Tennessee connection. Though she was born in Australia, she was raised in Henderson, Tennessee. At the age of nine, the burgeoning young performer began performing with the Voices of Baha, a choir directed by her father. Her powerful voice earned her a spot as a soloist at the age of 12. The choir toured in India, Europe, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Australia.

Price is the lead vocalist who plays guitar and ukulele.

Rounding out the band is Mike Calbrese on drums, organ, and vocals; Akie Bermiss on Keyboards, organ and vocals, and James Cornelison on guitar and vocals.

Tickets for the show are on sale at tennesseetheater.com or Ticketmaster.
