KNOXVILLE - Knox Makers, Knoxville’s longest-running community makerspace has partnered up with Maker City Initiative to host a series of interactive workshops, demonstrations, and activations at the 65th annual Dogwood Arts Festival at World’s Fair Park.

From 10am to 7pm this Friday & Saturday, April 24th & 25th, The Maker Experience invites festivalgoers of all ages and skill levels to step inside the creative process by watching skilled local makers demonstrate their craft or try their hand at learning one of their own. Demonstrations are free for all festival attendees. Expert-led workshops are just $10 per participant with limited tickets available.

Friday 4/24
10:00am: Live Painting, led by Constance Bigwood
11:00am: Repurposed Assemblage, led by Jim Anderson of Sculpture on the Circle
1:00pm: Metal Sculpture, led by Joe Hall of KnoxMakers
3:00pm: Wire Wrapped Collars, led by Francesca Faucete of Studio Novam
5:00pm: Weaving on Tree Branches, led by Maria Paz Valenzuela
11am - 5pm: Blacksmithing, led by Joe Hall of InsPYRE

11:00am: Crochet a Small Mushroom, led by Laura Mall of Whimsical Mischief

Workshops:
Led by expert makers, attendees will be guided through the creation process, helping you craft your own piece to take home. Explore new skills and unleash your creativity with a diverse selection of projects including woodworking, jewelry-making, botanical printing, and acrylic pouring.
