Knoxville – Visit Knoxville Film Office has announced that 9-1-1: Nashville, a primetime television series that will air on ABC, will be filming this fall in Knoxville for one of its inaugural season episodes.
9-1-1: Nashville is an upcoming American procedural drama television series set for an ABC premiere on October 9, 2025. It serves as the second spin-off of the 9-1-1 franchise, following 9-1-1: Lone Star, which concluded in February 2025. The series is created by Ryan Murphy, Tim Minear, and Rashad Raisani, with Brad Falchuk and Angela Bassett also serving as executive producers. Set in Nashville, Tennessee, the series follows the lives of emergency responders—including firefighters, paramedics, and police officers—as they face life-threatening situations.
The Visit Knoxville Film Office promotes Knoxville and Knox County as a premiere filming location. The Film Office supports local production companies with resources such as locations, permits, destination services, and any other needs to ensure smooth production. Since 2016, the Film Office has been actively recruiting feature films, and Knoxville has since been named to MovieMaker Magazine’s “Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker” five times.
“This is a really extraordinary time for the Visit Knoxville Film Office and for Knoxville itself, particularly as it relates to film in our destination,” said Kim Bumpas, President of Visit Knoxville. “November will be full of back-to-back excitement with not only hosting our third annual film festival, FILM FEST KNOX, but now with this filming taking place, we will continue to put Knoxville on the map for more production.”
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have a primetime network television show like 9-1-1: Nashville come to our area and showcase our talented crew, resources, and locations,” said Curt Willis, Sr. Director of the Visit Knoxville Film Office. “This marks one of the largest productions to ever film in Knoxville and hopefully will open the door to other projects that will continue to raise the bar for production in our community.”
In communicating with Michael Lohmann, Kapital Entertainment’s Head of Productions and Producer of the television series Nashville, on a separate television series project, the opportunity for filming 9-1-1: Nashville in Knoxville arose. Knoxville’s varied locations and accessible market for production expansion made the area a clear choice for filming.
“Working with the Visit Knoxville Film Office has been a real asset in coordinating this project and making it happen,” said Lohmann. “I hope to have the opportunity to bring more projects that could be a good fit for Knoxville."
