31st Annual Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival set for September 16
Published August 25, 2023

ONEIDA, TN - The 31st annual Haunting in the Hills Storytelling Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 16, from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM (ET) at Bandy Creek Visitor Center and Campground. Earn points towards the 2023 Go Big Challenge and enjoy beautiful Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area for a fun-filled day of stories, music, crafts and more.

Craft classes and concerts are free and open to the public.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and be part of a 31-year tradition but make sure you stay through the evening for the popular Haunting in the Hills ghost stories.

Storytelling has always been an important part of the Big South Fork community. What started as a small program for local schools 31 years ago has turned into a full day long festival with professional storytellers from around the world. Kick off this year’s event with a special story time and craft activity with a Reading Ranger program at 10:30 AM. Afterwards, there will be live music and storytellers performing throughout the day.

Featured storytellers for 2023 are Judy Baker, David Novak, Toni Simmons, and Linda Yemoto.

The event is free and everyone is welcome. For additional information on this special event as well as other events, call (423) 569-9778, or visit online www.nps.gov/biso/planyourvisit/storytelling.htm.
