Amadeus Chamber Ensemble presents Hallelujah Handel!

The Amadeus Chamber Ensemble is delighted to announce Hallelujah Handel!, the fourth concert of its 2022-2023 Season. The program is devoted to oratorio, religious, and operatic works by the composer of Messiah: Georg Friedrich Händel. The free- admission concert will take place on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. at Saint John Neumann Catholic Church (633 St. John Court, Farragut, TN 37934). Reservations are not required.

Brian Salesky, former Executive and Artistic Director of Knoxville Opera, will conduct the concert featuring beloved favorites and intriguing rarities from 10 Handel works including spectacular trumpet-blazing selections from Samson, Rinaldo, and Judas Maccabaeus (with the participation of the Knoxville Symphony Youth Choir and the St. John Neumann Catholic School Choir. Maestro Salesky commented: “ACE is privileged to present the master’s thrilling, inspiring, and emotional music to our community.”

This concert marks the Knoxville debuts of Metropolitan Opera mezzosoprano Renée Tatum and internationally renowned stage and recording artist bass Curtis Streetman. Returning after many concerts with the Ensemble are soprano Abigail Santos Villalobos who starred in the world premiere of El Pasado Se Nunca Termina with Lyric Opera of Chicago, Houston Grand Opera, and San Diego Opera, and Chicago tenor Aaron Short.
