Mellow Mushroom serves up the “Freshman 15”

As freshmen arrive at the University of Tennessee for the first time, there’s no better way to celebrate than with a hot pizza shared with their new school friends. For UT students, there’s a Mellow Mushroom located at 2109 Cumberland Ave., just a few blocks from campus. For a limited time (Now through Oct. 3, 2021), students can take advantage of the “Freshman 15” special, featuring a small cheese pizza, pretzel bites, and a fountain beverage for $15.

“Enjoying a hot pizza in your dorm is a staple of college life and Mellow Mushroom is making that accessible and economical for college students in Knoxville,” said Anne Mejia, Mellow Mushroom Vice President of Brand Development.

Mellow Mushroom’s “Freshman 5 List to be Successful and Mellow” their first year:

• Academics - Don’t be afraid to ask for help with a tough class. (It’s just like requesting an extra topping on your pizza!)
• Fitness - Make sure you get 30 minutes of exercise every day. (Walk to Mellow Mushroom for lunch!)
• Social - Say hello to one person you don’t know every day! (Those cooks at Mellow Mushroom are pretty mellow!)
• Food - Work towards a balanced diet! (Veggies, cheese, and fruit on your pizza count!)
• Mental Health - Take a few minutes every day away from studies, screens, and people (check out the art at your nearest Mellow Mushroom!)

The Freshman 15 special is available for both Take Out and Online ordering at participating locations.
