KNOXVILLE – To celebrate the holiday season and the meaningful value of community, UScellular has made a donation toward equipment and gifts valued at $1,400 for the students of The Joy of Music School. To bring locally grown joy to Knoxville, UScellular worked with the local team to learn about the needs of the community and then reached out to The Joy of Music School to get an ideal wish list. Traveling in a holiday-themed truck, the company delivered the items to support the organization’s efforts in strengthening community relationships.

“Giving back to the people and organizations that make Knoxville a city we are proud to call home is what this season is all about,” said Nathan Waddell, director of sales for UScellular in East Tennessee. “Especially after last year, it is a true joy to celebrate and connect with the organizations that make our community special.”

The Joy of Music School provides free music lessons and instruments to financially disadvantaged, at-risk youth. Since 1998, the Knoxville nonprofit has been supported by more than 100 volunteers who provide music education that fosters discipline and encourages positive self-esteem.

In addition to community gifts, UScellular is hosting a sweepstakes where $10,000 will go to the winner and another $10,000 will go to the science, technology, education and mathematics (STEM) program of the winner’s choice at locallygrownjoy.uscellular.com.
