AC Entertainment lands three spots on Paste Magazine’s list of Top 14 Music Festivals of 2019
By Lauren Miller

Paste Magazine, a leading digital chronicle of the music and entertainment business, has named three AC Entertainment productions to its list of the Best Music Festivals of 2019 – the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville; Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tennessee; and the High Water Festival in Charleston, South Carolina.

“It’s a terrific honor to have our work acknowledged in this way,” said Ashley Capps, founder and CEO of AC Entertainment. “Our team at AC possesses the vision, the attention to detail and the operational experience to create these unique festivals that truly stand apart from others – and from one another. Each one offers its own unforgettable experience – a celebration of place and community that attracts people from throughout the region and from all over the world. We’re very proud of them and grateful for the recognition.”

The list includes 14 well-known festivals from around the world and was compiled from the best festivals that, according to Paste, “put an emphasis on music discovery and spotlighting new artists.” The publication also focused on festivals that “prioritized gender equality and budget-friendly attractions.”

The honors come as Big Ears gears up for its 11th anniversary March 26-29, 2020. Tickets are on sale now at bigearsfestival.org.

About Big Ears, Paste said: “Attending Big Ears, one has to put themselves in the mindset to have their preconceptions about music repeatedly shattered with each performance. There’s no limitations at Big Ears, and the culmination of musical minds aware of this freedom has resulted in something singularly spectacular.”

AC Entertainment’s highly acclaimed Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival also was included in the list. The festival is billed by organizers and fans as “the most positive place on this planet, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.” Its 2019 season saw a return to its jam-band roots and a combination of renowned pop artists, indie acts and country music all stars.

Paste said of Bonnaroo: “The festival sold out for the first time since 2013, and in doing so maintained its free-spirited, communal vibes. The farm is still one of the best (or at least, most iconic) places to hear music in the country.”

About the High Water Festival, Paste said the festival accomplished the ideal balance of music and experiences: “High Water isn’t just a music festival. It’s a celebration of the capital-S South, a region rich in tradition, culture and personality. High Water belongs in Charleston, one of the best destinations in the South for food, drinks and friendly folks.”
