Donny, Carl Richmond “Saving Faith” movie DVD makes big hit

SEVIERVILLE, TN - Donny Richmond and son Carl, of Sevier County, visited the Sevierville Walmart September 18 for the national DVD and digital release date of the movie, “Saving Faith,” in which they starred. The faith-based movie is being distributed throughout the U.S. by media giant Lionsgate Entertainment, to major outlets such as Target, Meijer, Amazon and 6,000 Walmart stores. “Saving Faith” received 3 Award Nominations at the International Christian Film Festival, including Donny Richmond for Best Lead Actor in a Feature Film.

Carl Richmond, 15, is becoming quite a popular actor, having appeared in 3 movies released during the last 2 years, including the locally produced “Hammer: The Rootin’ For Regen Story,” and “The Christmas Reunion,” which also featured his brother Donny Richmond Jr., and dad. Additionally, Carl was filmed playing the part of young David of the Bible for hologram scenes of shows at Pigeon Forge’s Biblical Times Theater.

Donny Richmond is an internationally known entertainer with numerous #1 Chart hits in various countries, in the country, gospel, and popular music fields. Last year, Donny was inducted into the national Country Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame, located in Branson, Mo. He is also an inductee of the International CGMA Hall of Fame, and the Texoma Music Hall of Fame (Texas, Oklahoma). His extensive list of Awards includes Artist of The Decade, The Living Legend Award, and 6 times Entertainer of The Year.

The main lead stars of “Saving Faith” are award winning actress Jenn Gotzon, “Sevier County’s own” Donny Richmond, America’s “King of Clean Comedy” Henry Cho, and accomplished actor Jim Chandler. The movie features numerous special guest appearances, including Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, members of The Gatlin Brothers and Rascal Flatts, and Olympic skater Scott Hamilton. Carey Jones, also of Sevierville, appears in a prominent role as the “bad guy”. The movie was filmed in the East Tennessee town of Clinton, and in Nashville, TN. National reviewers have called “Saving Faith,” rated G, a must see for new releases in the family film genre. By mid-morning of the Sept. 18 release date, store managers already stated they would be ordering additional copies of the movie to meet the demand.
