Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with "A Celtic Celebration"

KNOXVILLE -– The Knoxville Symphony Orchestra will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with "A Celtic Celebration" on Saturday, March 3 at the Civic Auditorium.

The KSO journeys through the history and culture of the Emerald Isle with vocalists, Irish step dancers and traditional Irish bagpipers. The wide range of Irish/Celtic repertoire includes excerpts from Sir Hamilton Harty's An Irish Symphony and Malcolm Arnold's Four Scottish Dances and also will include music from the films Braveheart and Titanic. Familiar tunes including "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling," "Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Rah" and "The Irish Washerwoman" will be performed. Broadway standards from Brigadoon and Finian's Rainbow round out the show, along with an audience sing along.

The concert is sponsored by Oak Ridge Strategy Group. It will begin at 8:00 PM and will be led by Resident Conductor James Fellenbaum. Tickets to the concert begin at $35.00 and may be purchased by logging on to the KSO website, www.knoxvillesymphony.com, or by calling the KSO Box Office at 865-291-3310 or Tickets Unlimited at 865-656-4444.
