2011 Tennessee Valley Fair Accepting Competition Entries

The Tennessee Valley Fair offers over 1,200 competitions which offer a blue ribbon. Entries are now being accepted for the 2011 competitions which will run from September 9-18.

For more than 90 years, the Fair has provided East Tennesseeans with an opportunity to bring their best creations of quilts, crafts, cows, and culinary to enter a competition. The Fair awards tens of thousands of dollars every year in premiums to farmers, artists, and individuals.

As one of the state's largest multi-day events, the Tennessee Valley Fair attracts approximately 140,000 people annually.

Contest information is available online at www.tnvalleyfair.org/contests.php. Contest descriptions, rules, deadlines and entry forms can be downloaded for all available contests.

Printed information and entry forms are also available through the mail by calling the Fair's entry department at 865-215-1480.

The Fair begins the Friday after Labor Day, September 9-18, as it invites you to "Let Go" this fall.

Known for its innovative exhibits, livestock shows, concert series, action sports, exciting rides and a variety of unique fun foods, the Tennessee Valley Fair offers family entertainment. Adult admission is only $9, $7 in advance (kids 5 and younger are free). The Fair also presents nightly fireworks sponsored by the Tennessee Lottery.
