21st Century Steam Excursion Train Trip Scheduled for Knoxville to Chattanooga

Climb aboard a 21st century steam locomotive in Knoxville on Monday, November 14. Norfolk Southern and the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum are conducting the train excursion from Knoxville to Chattanooga. Passengers will return by charter bus.
The former Southern Railway steam locomotive 630 will pull the train. Number 630 was built in 1904 and pulled freight trains during the first half of the last century. Its most recent function has been to provide excursion services throughout the Southeast.

The train will depart 9:30 a.m. from the historic former-Southern Railway passenger station at West Depot Avenue and Gay Street in downtown Knoxville.
Ticket cost is $65, which includes the train ride, bus return to Knoxville, and a box lunch.
