KNOXVILLE - Covenant Health Park will soon be home to Jonathan’s Grille, a popular sports bar concept based in Nashville with locations throughout Tennessee and Alabama.
Curt Revelette, a co-owner of the company with his brother, Mason Revelette, said the eatery aims for “a Cheers-like feeling.”
“We try to have something for everybody,” he said. “We are affordable and we have specials all week. We want to be the kind of place you go to four or five times a week!”
Every Jonathan’s Grille has close to 55 television sets.
Revelette said the menu will feature smash burgers, flatbreads, wings, interesting fresh salads, and Nashville hot chicken – in sandwiches and as tenders. For dessert: salted caramel brownies with vanilla ice cream, among other offerings.
At Covenant Health Park, Jonathan’s Grille will be located in a 9,000-square-foot space located adjacent to the Delaney Building, and just steps away from the South Entrance to Covenant Health Park.
“Being located outside a AAA stadium works out great for us,” Revelette said. “Activity breeds activity!”
He said Jonathan’s Grille features late night happy hours that start at 10 p.m. in order to cater to others in the hospitality industry. “Most restaurants close at 9 or 10,” he said. Jonathan’s Grille will close at midnight Sunday through Thursday and at 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. It will open every day at 11am.
Revelette said he expects construction to begin March 2026 with a build-out taking 10 months. When it opens, Jonathan’s Grille will provide 100 jobs, he said.
He said the company prides itself on being an excellent workplace. “We have hardly any turnover,” he said. “A lot of people start as servers and are now running their own stores.”
Covenant Health Park is the home of the Knoxville Smokies, the AA-affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, and One Knoxville SC, a professional soccer club founded in 2021. The multi-use, publicly owned stadium opened in 2025 to host sporting events, concerts, festivals, business meetings, conferences, receptions, holiday parties and other year-round events. With the public plaza as a gathering place, it is anticipated that the stadium will host hundreds of events a year.
