NASHVILLE, TN — Tennessee REALTORS® has awarded Lisa Askew the prestigious Presidential Award in recognition of her extraordinary efforts in assisting victims of Hurricane Helene in East Tennessee.

When the devastating storm left families displaced and communities in crisis, Askew quickly mobilized resources and provided direct aid to those most in need. Before debris was cleared and roadways restored, she was on her ATV navigating the devastation to make sure her community was cared for. Her leadership and compassion exemplify the REALTOR® spirit of service and the association’s mission to support communities beyond real estate transactions.

“Lisa embodies the best of who we are as REALTORS® — selfless, determined, and deeply committed to helping others,” said Will Sliger, President of Tennessee REALTORS®. “Her tireless work in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene made a lasting difference for families and neighborhoods across East Tennessee. This award is a testament to her heart for service and the positive impact REALTORS® have in times of crisis.”

Askew’s work included delivering food, water, and clothing to those in need. Additionally, she helped over 80 families apply for relief assistance through the REALTORS® Relief Foundation. Her dedication went beyond immediate relief, focusing on rebuilding lives and strengthening communities.

The Presidential Award is given at the discretion of the Tennessee REALTORS® President to an individual who has gone above and beyond in service to the profession and community. This year, Lisa Askew’s response to one of the state’s most challenging natural disasters stood out as a shining example of REALTOR® leadership in action.
