According to recent data, Tennessee is a pet-loving state, with roughly six in 10 households owning at least one pet. Dogs and cats make up the majority of those companions, placing thousands of Knoxville-area pets at risk for common issues such as allergies, infections and chronic ear disease.
“Skin and ear problems are chronic conditions best managed early in the disease process,” said Dr. Danielle Nolitt, veterinary dermatologist at Dermatology for Animals Knoxville. “Our goal is to give pet owners answers, discuss options and provide a clear plan for helping their pets feel their best long term, not limiting care to temporary fixes.”
Dr. Nolitt will lead the new Knoxville practice. A University of Tennessee graduate, she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree before completing a dermatology internship at Cornell University and a dermatology residency at the University of Tennessee. Her clinical interests include autoimmune skin diseases, allergies, otology, CO₂ laser procedures and equine dermatology. She is passionate about delivering practical, evidence-based care that improves the comfort and daily lives of both pets and their families.
The new Dermatology for Animals Knoxville is located at 11301 Kingston Pike in Knox County. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call (865) 247-0025 to schedule an appointment.
