SCOC special events coordinator receives Stars of the Industry leadership award

SEVIERVILLE, TN – Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Special Events Coordinator Tanner England was awarded the Under 30 Gateway Emerging Leader of the Year Award for Sevierville at the 2023 STARS of the Industry event presented by Sevier County Hospitality Tourism Alliance.

The award recognized the talent and dedication shown during the beginning of England’s career in the events and tourism industry.

“It’s such an honor to receive this award. I am blessed that the Sevierville Chamber took a chance on me as an intern 17 months ago,” says England. “I’ve learned and grown so much in my time at the Chamber, but nothing I’ve accomplished would have been possible without the help of my coworkers and this community that has accepted me with open arms.” England continues, “Most importantly, thank you to my family for all they’ve done for me. I hope one day I can pay them back for that.”

England joined the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce through the Southern Hospitality Internship Program (SHIP) and became an official events department employee once the 14-week internship concluded.

Sevierville Chamber of Commerce events manager Daniel Young works closely with England and says watching him grow in the events industry has been a privilege. “Tanner is motivated, driven, and smart. The sky is the limit for this young man,” says Young.
