LENOIR CITY, TN - The People Promoting Animal Welfare (“PPAW”) organization plans to open a new, low-cost spay and neuter clinic in Loudon County. The new PPAW Executive Directors, Dr. Kelly Simonian and Dr. Erin French Dols have a bright vision for the future of animal welfare in East Tennessee.

“PPAW has built such a strong reputation in East TN, having served more than 100k animals in the last 20 years. Our new facility will increase our service to this community and reduce the number of animals that end up in shelters, and we need your support.” said Dr. Kelly Simonian, PPAW Executive Director

The new clinic will be located at 24303 Hwy 321 at Unitia Rd, in Lenoir City, more centrally located to better serve: Blount, Loudon and Monroe County residents. This new, larger facility, will increase the number of animals they can spay or neuter in a given year from 6k to 10k. It will also increase the number of services provided.

The new clinic will include:
• Surgery Space - increase surgery space from 2 to 4 tables
• Animal Housing - increase from 60 animal capacity to over 120
• Exam Room - increase from 1 to 3 exam rooms
• Client Seating - increase from seating for 7 to up to 20 seats
• Adoptable Cat Room - room to house up to 8 adult cats available for adoption
• Parking - increase parking space from 8 spaces to up to 20 client parking spaces
• Outdoor areas - fenced areas allow for safe dog walking

In addition to its primary mission of offering affordable spays and neuters to the public, PPAW also works with rescues and shelters to offer life saving and quality of life services to help pets go healthy into new homes.

“We are able to offer these low-cost services to our community, thanks in part to our loyal donors. One in particular, James Snyder, Trustee for the Fouche Foundation, surprised us with an incredible donation match of $3 donated for each $1 raised to support fundraising for our new facility.” said Dr. Erin French Dols, PPAW Executive Director

“The Fouche Foundation has been a steadfast contributor to PPAW for over ten years. As Trustee of the Charles & Sue Fouche Foundation, I am pleased to announce our continued partnership with the PPAW Spay/Neuter Clinic in their ambitious goal of raising funds for the construction of a new animal care clinic. To ignite their Capital Campaign to raise the appropriate funds for this endeavor, the Fouche Foundation will provide a matching grant to PPAW. For every dollar that you donate, the Fouche Foundation will match it with three dollars, up to a total match of $180,000. Much success to PPAW and the citizens of your communities!” said D. James Snyder, Trustee, Fouche Foundation

Donations are accepted at online.

PPAW is a 501c(3) non-profit organization with the purpose of operating a low-cost spay/neuter clinic for dogs and cats. Its clients primarily reside in 3 counties of East Tennessee (Blount, Loudon and Monroe), but it has helped animals all over the Southeast. The PPAW Spay/Neuter Clinic was started in late 1998. They have sterilized over 100,000 companion animals to date. PPAW's mission is to reduce the number of unwanted dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies and thus help end the euthanasia of adoptable pets.
