Knox Rail Salvage celebrates second location

Three free kitchens to be given away at grand opening event

KNOXVILLE - Get your cabinets, floors, roofing and doors at Knox Rail Salvage.  The Staff and owners of Knox Rail Salvage are excited to open the doors to its second store in Knoxville. The new location is at 4214 Greenway Drive in the Fountain City area of North Knoxville.   To celebrate this milestone, they are having a Grand Opening celebration on Thursday, October 3rd.

Knox Rail Salvage opened the doors to its first location in Downtown Knoxville in 1979. They sell primarily home improvement products at discount prices to contractors, real estate investors and homeowners throughout East Tennessee. The public is invited to attend the Grand Opening celebration where 3 kitchens will be given away. Hawg Dawgs and Brusters ice cream will be on hand as food vendors for the event.

Joel Piper, V.P. of Marketing and Operations at Knox Rail Salvage states, “The addition of the 4214 Greenway Drive store represents our best efforts to establish a discount home improvement store in the North Knoxville community where there is strong home improvement market as evidenced by the presence of national home improvement retailers Lowes and Home Depot.  To reduce any confusion concerning the addition of this new Greenway Drive location it is important to understand that our Knox Rail Salvage location in Downtown Knoxville for over 40 years isn’t going anywhere!”   The 4214 Greenway Drive location will be a new store that provides customers with another option to connect with the store's brand.

“Cabinets, floors, and doors will continue to be our primary product categories at this new location," said Piper. "These product categories are where we p. Our long-standing, vendor relationships and prompt payment history with our suppliers gives us access to the best deals which enables us to keep our product costs low.   We will continue to build our brand with a focus on attentive customer service, and high value, low-cost home improvement products. We will leverage our in house 3D kitchen design capabilities and our new kitchen and flooring showroom to empower our customers to make the most informed buying decisions when building or remodeling their new home. The intrinsic value of our kitchen and bath cabinet offerings is due in part to the fact that all our kitchen cabinets come standard with plywood construction and soft close doors and drawers. These standard features allow our customers to avoid the costly upgrades that are commonplace with other cabinet showroom offerings. Our focus on low cost, high value products, low overhead and large inventory levels makes our products affordable and provides our customers with the convenience of same day pickup. This is a convenience our customers love.”

Piper also added “We will continue to work closely with contractors to help their clients to stay under budget without sacrificing selection and to take advantage of our large inventory levels thereby reducing the wait times on cabinets from 4-6 weeks to same day pickup.”

Come and help Knox Rail Salvage celebrate the grand opening and register to win 1 of 3 free kitchens at the event. The Grand Opening celebration will be held from 11am-5pm with free food and prizes on site.
