New Store in Downtown Knoxville to Have Grand Opening

A new store has opened in downtown Knoxville. Union Ave Books is offering a diverse selection of hand-picked new and used books along with gifts and decorative art.

On Saturday, June 18, the bookstore is hosting a grand opening for the public between 5-8 p.m. The Y'Una band will perform live music. Refreshments by Just Ripe, a new downtown grocery/prepared food shop and next door neighbor to the bookstore, will be served to guests.

Door prizes will also be awarded at the grand opening.

Union Ave Books invites friends, downtown dwellers, book lovers and all Knoxvillians to attend the celebration.

Several other events lead up to the June 18 grand opening:
• On June 16 at 5:30 p.m., Union Ave Books will host leading psychologist and businesswoman, Ros Taylor, who will sign her new book "Confidence at Work."
• On June 17, from 4 to 7 p.m., UT Press will be sponsoring a reception for local authors, including Michael Knight, Jack Neely, Paul Bergeron, Lyn Bales and others, with music by Nancy Brennan Strange.
• On June 19 at 3 p.m., the store inaugurates its Poet3 monthly readings with Linda Parsons Marion reading from her new collection "Bound."

The public is invited to attend all events.
