Burston Earns National, USA South Accolades for Greensboro Performance

MARYVILLE -- Maryville College freshman quarterback Melvin Burston earned a pair of prestigious weekly accolades for his outstanding performance against Greensboro College last Saturday.
The USA South Athletic Conference has released their weekly league accolades for action ending on November 6th . Maryville College's Melvin Burston was named football offensive rookie of the week following his Senior Day breakout performance against Greensboro College.
The freshman quarterback from Sarasota, Florida accounted for four touchdowns and 436 total yards in a 42-20 win over USA South foe Greensboro. Through the air, Burston was 26-of-36 for 302 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground, Burston rushed for 134 yards on 18 carries with one touchdown. Also Nominated: Anthony Terry, Averett; Rudy Rudolph, Christopher Newport.
D3Football.com, in a partnership with Scoutware, named Burston to their NCAA Division III National Team of the Week. He was chosen as the best quarterback in the nation for his effort against the Pride. Melvin is only the second Fighting Scot to garner this weekly national honor.
