Katherine Nadler named Capital One Academic All-District by CoSida

MARYVILLE -- Maryville College volleyball defensive specialist/libero Katherine Nadler, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, was named as a 1st Team Academic All-District selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America following her 2011 campaign.
Nadler, a senior chemical physics and mathematics major, has excelled in the classroom with a 3.91 cumulative grade point average. On the volleyball court, Katherine paced the Scots to a 26-7 overall record and a regular season Great South Athletic Conference title. Her Scots claimed their 9th GSAC Tournament crown and earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, their 10th bid in the program's history.
The daughter of Robert and Evelyn Nadler, Katherine over her career has recorded 390 kills, 118 Service Aces, 1,499 digs, and 30 blocks. Katherine has also earned numerous conference accolades. In 2008, she was a member of the GSAC All-Freshmen Team. She was a member of the GSAC All-Academic Team in 2009, 2010, and 2011 and was a member of the GSAC All-Conference team in 2010 and 2011.
As a 2011 Capital One Academic All-District selection, Katherine will be considered for Academic All-American honors by CoSida voting members. All-American selections will be announced at the end of November.
