MARYVILLE -- Maryville College senior midfielder Jake Holt, a native of Knoxville and graduate of Farragut High School, was named as a 1st Team Academic All-District selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America following his 2011 campaign.

Holt, an international business major, has excelled in the classroom with a 3.95 cumulative grade point average. On the field, MC's three-year starter paced the Scots to a 14-4-2 overall record. He helped the Scots earn a regular season Great South Athletic Conference title and their 7th GSAC Tournament crown. In 20 games played, Holt deposited seven goals, the second most goals on the team this year. Three of his goals were game winners for Maryville this season.

During his career in the orange and garnet, Holt garnered numerous accolades. He was recognized on three occasions as a Great South Athletic All-Academic Team member. ESPN and CoSida named him an Academic All-District selection following his junior season.

As a 2011 Capital One Academic All-District selection, Jake will be considered for Academic All-American honors by CoSida voting members. All-American selections will be announced at the end of November.
