Good Morning East Tennessee!

Are you grumpy in the morning?

Some people have put me in this category but I'm really not. I just don't feel like talking. I reserve this time for just myself. I'll give you the rest of the day but I need this and it has to be peaceful.

When I was married, my wife and I would stumble into the office with our coffee and, if I had something to say to her I would write it, print it out and hand it to her. She was the same way so it worked for us.

Most of my friends and family know not to call until after I've had my hour or so and even my dog knows not to bother me in the morning. Usually he stays sleeping during this time and it's not until I've had my forth or fifth cup of coffee that he knows to awake for his morning walk and breakfast.

Things I especially don't want to hear, say or deal with in the morning:

• DId you do your homework?
• Aren't you late for something?
• Our stats are down.
• We're out of Cocoa Puffs.
• You used a singular and a plural in the same sentence.
• The mayor called.
• Why is the KUB bill in a blue envelope?
• Who won the election?
• What time is it?
• Do you "get it?"
• The "c' on my keyboard is sticking.
• Today's Tuesday, right?
• The bank called.
• Does Wikileaks still exist?

Maybe I am grumpy. I'm probably going to wind up a dirty old man puttering around the house with my dog and writing stories about celebrity scandals. Still, I'll have my flannel robe, my Cocoa Puffs, my coffee, and my morning peace, and that's how I like it.

Have a great day!
