Good Morning East Tennessee!

Isn't it nice to get a break from the cold?

The warm trend will continue throughout the weekend and it's supposed to be in the 60s on Sunday!

The big question now is: Did KUB save for a sunny day?

Have you ever wondered who gets all the money the utility companies bring in? Who is KUB? Does KUB go on vacation? What does KUB eat for dinner?

Well, the fact is: in most cases, the local utility company is a government-owned monopoly regulated by a public utilities commission.

KUB's commission has 7 board members who meet once a month at the historic Miller's Building in downtown Knoxville. What exactly do they discuss? Is it open to the public? Do they serve brownies? How much does the commission make? Who did they vote for? Most of all -- who are they?

Pace Robinson - Chair
Joel Connell - Vice Chair
Bruce A. Anderson - Commissioner
J. Thomas Jones - Commissioner
Margo Uri Simmons - Commissioner
Nikitia Thompson - Commissioner
Eston Williams - Commissioner

Here's a question: Do the utility companies make mistakes? Here's your answer: The utility companies make mistakes all the time - especially in the commercial sector. In fact, there's a new company in Raleigh NC that is so confident they'll find an error in your bill they examine it for you. If they don't recover a refund, you pay them nothing. If they do find an error and recover the refund, you pay them a percentage of what they find.

Have a great day!
