Good Morning East Tennessee!

Sometimes it's best to step back.

Yesterday I was having a lousy day. I couldn't get anything done. I'd start an article, do all the research, and get halfway through writing it only to realize that no one would care about it, including me!

I would start another article, spend hours writing it, get feedback on it, get it ready for publishing, research the facts for the tenth and final time before finding out that everything I was writing was an exposed factless myth.

Technology that was supposed to change the world turned out to be unavailable due to outrageous expense; ten year old guitar prodigies turned out to be playing air-guitar; sought after interviews with custom motorcycle builders/artists turned out to be people in jail; breaking news releases turned out to be clever spam; on and on through the entire day.

Have you ever just had "one of those days?"

Then I got an email from a 5th year architecture student at Rhode Island School of Design who is in the beginning stages of a new project to help the homeless people in Providence.

Kara writes, "I hope that through my work I can assist in the rethinking of people's perceptions of our neighbors who are homeless and the conditions of the existing systems."

She went on to say she appreciated my style and hard work while giving examples of some of the things that touched her the most.

"Empowering an individual to change their life under their own terms is what I'm assuming to be possible, and hopefully will have a project that will evolve into doing just that. Thanks for being part of my inspiration!"

I wrote an email response to Kara and at that I decided it was time.

Jack and I got in the car, drove to the park, and spent the rest of the day chasing squirrels.

Have a great day!
