KNOXVILLE - This morning at 9:58 AM, the Knox County Emergency Communications District received a 911 call about a house fire at 2624 Crest Park Road. The caller stated she had returned home and found her house on fire. She said a large amount of black smoke was coming from the front door.

On arrival of the first KFD unit, crews discovered that a two-story single-family home was on fire. The bulk of the fire was in the rear of the residence. Heavy black smoke was coming from the front door.

Thanks to the swift response of dedicated crews, the fire was successfully extinguished by 10:14 AM, just 16 minutes after the initial call.

Two adults and a dog lived in the residence. One adult female was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.

The home has suffered heavy fire, smoke, and water damage.

The Knoxville Fire Investigations Unit is on the scene and is working to determine a cause.

The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants.
