Donovan is well-known in the East Tennessee community both for her eight years of local television experience from 2005-2013 and five years at Visit Knoxville. While at WBIR-TV Channel 10, she won an ADDY award from the American Advertising Federation (AAF Knoxville) for a public service announcement promoting the city’s recycling program. Donovan created WBIR-TV’s “Darin’ Erin” segment in which viewers picked adventures for Donovan from driving a fire truck to being pursued by a police dog to parachuting indoors.

As a videographer for WFXT in Boston, Massachusetts, she earned an Emmy Award for coverage of Whitey Bulger, a suspected mobster on the run who was found, brought to trial and convicted. She earned television awards from the Associated Press and Maine Association of Broadcasters and recognition from the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) for her videography.

“Erin Donovan brings dynamic vision and unparalleled experience to our firm,” Moxley Carmichael CEO Cynthia Moxley said. “She is an accomplished journalist and videographer with an in-depth knowledge of digital media. She is a longtime advocate of Knoxville, well-connected in the community and the perfect choice to tell our clients’ stories with her skills in video, broadcast, photography and social media.”

As director of communications and social strategies for Visit Knoxville, the marketing organization for the City of Knoxville and Knox County, Donovan worked with journalists from around the world to promote tourism and special events. She also handled Visit Knoxville’s social media platforms.

Donovan earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a minor in theater from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire, where she also played volleyball and competed on the ski team.

She serves on the boards and marketing committees for the Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum and Appalachian Mountain Bike Club. Donovan also is on the board of Dogwood Arts and has a seat on the City of Knoxville’s Public Arts Committee.

She is a frequent speaker and emcee at events throughout East Tennessee, including “Howl-O-Ween” in support of UT Gardens and the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She served for years as “Biscuit Queen” for the International Biscuit Festival. She also is a committee member and emcee for the Friends of Literacy’s Bachelor Auction. Donovan has served as a mentor for 10 years at Big Brother Big Sisters.

Originally from the New England area, Donovan resides in Knoxville with her rescue animals. An avid mountain biker, Donovan also enjoys travel and culinary adventures.
