According to WESA, the 2018 Top Hand Award For Excellence was presented to Stages West in recognition for the retailer’s “commitment to the strength and success of the Western/English Industry” as well as its “contributions to the equestrian lifestyle as industry friends and advocates.”

In selecting Stages West, WESA said the retailer is one of East Tennessee’s most well-known and beloved establishments.

According to Stephen Houser, third generation owner of Stages West, the store first opened its doors in 1975, and forty-three years later, the family still knows the very essence of what it means to build a business.

“We built our store on faith, family, and country,” said Houser. “It was special for us to be honored by the WESA as they have the same passion for what we do to serve the Western/English industry. As one of our nation’s largest independent Western retailers, the true honor and blessing is the opportunity to serve our customers each and every day.”

WESA’s markets are regarded as the single-sourcing entity for more than 2,500 product lines, bringing more than 7,000 retailers to Denver each year.
