Great Smoky Mountains National Park announces retirement of Bob Miller

bob millerBob Miller, "Voice of the Smokies," is retiring after nearly 40 years of federal service. Miller served as Public Relations Director for Great Smoky Mountains National Park for over 20 years.

The Knoxville Daily Sun's publisher, Jeaneane Payne (also CEO of Image Builders), is sad to see Bob retire. Jeaneane has worked with Miller for many years in getting the news out about National Park special events and happenings within Great Smoky Mountains National Park. "Bob has been absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the years. He was always courteous even during difficult situations which occurred in the Park. Even though he still doesn't believe that I have seen mountain lions and a jaguar in the Park, and a strange 'thing' that flew in front of my windshield one night, I appreciate Bob and all he has done for our National Park," said Jeaneane. "His contribution to Great Smoky Mountains National Park has been outstanding, and we were very fortunate to have had his expertise."

A retirement party for Miller has been scheduled for Thursday, May 31 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
