By Jeaneane Payne

With intentions to spread his message of kindness, opportunity, and hope Mr. Wei Chen, a Memphis business man and adventurer, will fly around the world. Chen is the first Chinese citizen to fly around the world in a single-engine plane.

Chen is an unofficial ambassador of Memphis, Tennessee to China and the world. He hopes his journey will raise over $250,000 for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. On stops along the way, he will encourage youth to greatness by sharing his personal story of giving and inspiration.

Chen will depart Memphis, TN on Sunday, May 22. The flight will include over 40 stops in 21 countries. His expedition will take approximately 70 days to complete. Stops include Greenland, Iceland, Scotland, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, United Arab Emirates, India, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Russia, Alaska, and Canada.

Mr. Chen says he is passionate about and takes pride in helping to bridge East and West relations and cultures.
