With the unemployment rate still high, many are out of work and need a helping hand. Thanksgiving Dinner was provided today to over 1,200 families by Knoxville Area Rescue Ministries (KARM).

Baskets of Hope was made possible by donations from area civic clubs, Sunday School classes, office staff from local businesses, neighborhood associations, and by groups of friends pulling together to fill a box. When completed, each Basket of Hope contained a turkey, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, pumpkin pie mix, instant potatoes, stuffing, gravy mix, and marshmallows.

Volunteers aided in pre-event tasks and, today, additional volunteers assisted in basket and turkey distribution, guest welcome and check-in, parking lot/traffic logistics and volunteer check in.
