Tennessee Farms are popular 2018 wedding venues

On-farm wedding venues are filling up fast for 2018, particularly for the fall. The Pick Tennessee farm wedding directory can be the shortest distance from bride and groom to happily ever after.

A statewide directory of farms that host weddings is on the Pick Tennessee website and on the Pick TN mobile app. The Pick TN mobile app will direct users to farm wedding possibilities closest to the user, and the website directory lists venues by region and county.

Every farm wedding location is different, so finding the right fit can take some time. Some farms, like The Lily Barn, nestled in the Smoky Mountain foothills, are full-service facilities complete with everything from catering to carriage rides. The Lily Barn’s farm features a 130 year old cantilever barn surrounded by a 3 acre perennial garden, rental cabins, and a tin-roofed gazebo for wedding ceremonies.

Most farm wedding options include dressing areas for the wedding party. Many offer on-site catering, and a few even have guest cabins. At Stay Down on The Farm near Nashville, Beth and Billy Wilkinson extend their hospitality to horses, as well as to human guests. At their site, a wedding weekend could become a country vacation for out-of-town guests staying in one of six cabins, with walking trails, a stocked fishing pond and wildlife sightings.

Another popular farm wedding option is the sort available at Delta Blues Winery near Memphis. Farm wineries often provide an ideal blend of rustic charm with elegant accommodations. Delta Blues Winery offers several wedding locales at their rural setting. Located in Lakeland, the winery hosts weddings and receptions in the farm vineyard, their spacious pavilion, or at the winery itself, which overlook the farm’s lake.

Pick Tennessee is the free service of the Tennessee Department of Agriculture to help connect consumers to Tennessee farms and farmers. Follow Pick Tennessee on social media for seasonal updates, recipes using local foods, and farm-related activities.
